A Feathered Escape
Have you met Tiki, the chatty Solomon Island Eclectus parrot hailing from Cape Coral, Florida? Tiki is this incredibly adorable pet parrot living with his owners Brent Chadwell and his girlfriend. He’s usually free to flit around the house, thanks to his loving owners who rarely cage him. But imagine their surprise when during a house clean-up, an open door led Tiki into an impromptu sky adventure!
The Social Media Hunt
Panic ensued as Brent took to social media and shared Tiki’s pictures, asking people to keep an eye out for their lost bird friend. For three agonizing days, his desperate hunt for Tiki bore no fruit, making Brent believe their odds of finding him were no better than a toss of a coin.
An Easter Miracle
Cut to a family celebrating their Easter dinner. The Schweizer family was, no doubt, taken aback when they heard a ‘peek-a-boo’ from an enchantingly green bird. The family quickly connected two and two from the social media alerts about a talking parrot and the Sinatra of their backyard. A hasty call to Reed’s veterinarian sister further confirmed that Tiki was indeed a pet parrot gone astray. 
Reunion and Revelations
A quick picture upload later, an elated Brent was reunited with Tiki. Witnessing the posted picture, Brent couldn’t hold back his tears, realizing the marvel that his feathered mate had been found so close to home after three tumultuous days. Both Tiki and Brent were overjoyed to see each other, vowing never to repeat such a hair-raising adventure. It was a tale of hope, humanity, and a bit of bird-brains, teaching us a valuable lesson: never leave your doors open, especially with a pet parrot on the loose!
