Taco Bell Launches Its First Ever Certified Vegan Item

Taco Bell, a major fast food chain, is set to launch its initial American Vegetarian Association (AVA) approved vegan menu option available across America on October 12. The brand-new item features Vegan Nacho Fries, a vegan spin on the classic Nacho Fries first introduced in 2018.

Vegan Delight

The fries themselves, coated in delicious seasonings, have always been vegan. What makes this dish unique is the introduction of a vegan "cheese" sauce, free from any animal-based ingredients. This addition turns the plate into a strictly plant-based offering.

Pricing and Availability

Vegan Nacho Fries will debut in two sizes – regular and large – priced at an affordable $2.19 and $2.99, respectively.

A Step Toward Plant-Based Dining

Taco Bell has occasionally catered to plant-based consumers with its "Veggie Cravings" section featuring a variety of meat-free dishes. Many of these can be customized to suit vegan tastes, with possibilities to swap-out meat for refried beans, black beans, or potatoes at no added cost.

A Boost for Veganism?

With more than 10% of all Taco Bell items ordered being vegetarian or adapted to be vegetarian, this exciting new menu item could be paving the way for more vegan-friendly offerings in the future.
