Loving Dad Found A Brilliant Way To See His Busy Daughter On Christmas

Christmas has come and gone this year, and while most of us wish we could deck the halls year round, the holidays are not as fun for everyone.

The time for celebrating together can bring out painful memories for some. And for others, their relatives just can’t be home for the holidays.

But Christmas is also a time for miracles, like how devoted dad Hal Vaughan managed to spend the holidays with his daughter, Pierce, while she was criss-crossing the world.

Pierce, a flight attendant for Delta Airlines, is one of the many workers who don’t get time off on Christmas – she was too busy helping make Christmas wishes come true for the passengers on her flights.

The sweet story would have gone unnoticed, except a passenger named Mike Levy – one of the people sitting beside Vaughan on his cross-country journey – heard the entire story and insisted on taking a picture of the father-daughter duo.

On Facebook, where Levy shared the photos and the incredible story, parents are praising Vaughan for going the extra mile (or thousands of extra miles) for his daughter.

“What a wonderful Christmas gift for both of them,” one commenter wrote.

“Hal is definitely an amazing dad!” wrote another.

Before you nominate Vaughan for father of the year, take note that he was given a discount on each ticket thanks to Pierce’s job with Delta. Still, it’s the thought that counts, and spending a day with family over the holidays is the most thoughtful gift of all.

Pierce later shared Levy’s post, revealing that it was her dad’s first trip using her employee discount and that he was even bumped up to First Class for part of the journey.

“A special thanks to all of the patient, wonderful gate agents around the country and my perfect crew,” she wrote. “He made it on every flight and even got first class RSW-DTW (Christmas miracle).”
